According to EPA, Honda's Insight and Toyota's Prius currently hold 1st and 2nd place among gasoline-fueled cars for highest gas milage and least emissions. This meeting will begin inside with with the food, then continue with informal presentations by 3 local owners of these new cars. When the indoor part of the meeting is over, weather-permitting, we'll head to the parking lot to see these EPA 5-star rated vehicles close-up.

Toyota's Prius will be presented by Joel Stout, Division of the University Architect at UC. He will provide brief background on how he was introduced to the Prius, what it took for him (and more importantly his wife!) to be sold on it, things learned since ordering the Prius in January and personal experiences with the Prius since May 3rd when picked up.

Two new Honda Insights will be presented by Stu Brinn, attorney with Strauss & Troy, and Daniel Malec-Kosak of Humpert Wolnitzek Architects. They will briefly describe purchasing their Insights, share their knowledge about the car's new technologies and describe their driving experience and fuel economy so far.

EPA gas milage and emissions ratings on these and other most efficient vehicles will be summarized by John Robbins. Other members are encouraged to bring any other new auto efficiency info and issues into the presentation.   Since the 3 presenters are members of Cincinnati AIA's Committee on the Environment or SW Ohio Alternate Energy Association, these groups' members are also invited to attend this meeting.

Meetings and activities are posted as received.
